Hole #

Hole #1 (Par 4) - From the tee box is a straight view to the green. Bring out your driver and let it fly. If you hit it well in the middle of the fairway, you'll be able to chip up on the green. If you have your slice working that day, don't forget to yell "fore" to the folks on #9.

Hole #2 (Par 4) - Another one where "letting it fly" is the motto, this hole is long and straight. Your second shot will likely be a long iron or a fairway wood unless you swing the sticks like Tiger Woods. Watch out for sand on the front-right edge of the green, it seems to be the place to be.

Hole #3 (Par 3) - Take out a high iron and send it over the creek and onto the green. If you hit it too far, you end up hitting your second shot from the fairgrounds across the street. The good news is a hole in one is within reach here.

Hole #4 (Par 4) - Don't let the creek in front of the tee box scare you, this par four is a long one. Take your driver out and hit it straight. A slice is forgiven in the trees and a hook meets a road.

Hole #5 (Par 3) - For some reason this hole looks to be a simple middle iron shot but the forest of trees to the right is the main attraction for golfers. If you put it to the left, you'll be hitting out of the woods too. A five of four iron is the average club choice here.

Hole #6 (Par 5) - The longest hole of the front nine, this is a dogleg left and there is no doubt that you will need to hit one ling and straight to set-up your second fairway wood shot. Getting to the green in two is possible, but it takes a great shot staying to the left on the fairway with yor first shot and then a clean straight second one. The green on this one is large and flat so long putss have a chance.

Hole #7 (Par 3) - A short tricky hole, this requires some precaution because the slope of the green creates havoc on players. Your putt on the green will either be going up hill or down and a mistake is not forgiven. Too hard and you may roll off the green. Another opportunity for a hole in one here.

Hole #8 (Par 4) - The tee box gives you one of the prettiest views of Zumbrota and a wide open fairway. This is a favorite of players to let it rip and watch it fly. Not easily done but it's possible to get it to the green one a roll and some help from nature. The green is a little to the left and is made for long putts.

Hole #9 (Par 4) - The last of the front nine looks flat to start but goes a little up hill with lots of opportunity to land in the sand. A bad slice on the ball and you are aiming at hitting from the fairway of hole #1 but the mistake is forgiveable unless you hit someone and don't yell "fore". The green is crowned so putting from the perimeter is tough but if you chip in the middle of the green, a par is in the stars for you.

Hole #10 (Par 5) - This is one long hole and depending which the way the wind is blowing, you need to think a little bit before you let it fly. A cross wind can make your ball hang, but a breeze to your back is a blessing. Lots of rolling hills and plenty of wild grass to land in.

Hole #13 (Par 4) - This is a long par four with lots of wild grass so keep your ball in the fairway. The key is your second shot if you want to make par. A good fairway wood or a 3 iron is likely the club of choice.

Hole #14 (Par 3) - A hole in one is in reach here with this short and nicely set hole. The tee box is up high so a clear view to the green is there and a wide open green is great for a guaranteed two putt.

Hole #17 (Par 4) - This hole has a narrowing so keeping it in the fairway is key. A little bit of a hook or mis calcualtion will land you in the water. The green is flat and forgiving so long putts are made here making a birdie possible.

Hole #18 (Par 4) - Don't be thinking about the cold drinks or great food waiting for you at the clubhouse just yet, this par 4 is long and has some spots where you can lose a ball or two if you aren't careful. With a usual breeze to your back, you can get some distance on your ball off the tee box making a chance for par.
